artevents was established by Di Robson in 1997 to produce major cultural projects, building on her established international track record. In 2004 Gareth Evans joined as co-director and in 2005 they produced John Berger:Here Is Where We Meet johnberger.org
The company has an ongoing interest in creating arts projects that discuss the nature and values of contemporary society. artevents supports innovative and imaginative collaborations between artists, artforms and technologies, alongside fresh approaches to public engagement.
The company seeks to explore the role of the arts in a rapidly changing cultural, technological, social, political and ecological landscape, with a particular interest in multi-culturalism, justice, responses to place and experimental culture.
Gareth Evans is an independent curator, editor, writer and critic. He edits the international moving image journal Vertigo and the new cross arts magazine Artesian. He has curated many film / mixed media seasons, including John Berger: Here Is Where We Meet (2005, johnberger.org) and All Power to the Imagination! 1968 and Its Legacies (2008, 1968.org.uk).
Di Robson is a cultural producer, consultant and lecturer, working nationally and internationally. Current contracts include the production of the 2012 event in Exhibition Road for The Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea. She has produced and programmed a wide range of festivals and events including John Berger: Here Is Where We Meet (2005) and the Jaipur Heritage International Festival (2003– 6). Di has worked extensively in experimental performance, is a mentor on a number of programmes including Space 11 in Glasgow and for the Roundhouse, London and was the Consultant producer of SPILL Festival, London 2007.
