Photographs and reviews of After Sebald: Place and Re-Enchantment, an Artevents weekend with Aldeburgh Music

Artevents is thrilled with the success of its recent weekend in association with Aldeburgh Music to mark the world premiere of Patience (After Sebald).

Grant Gee’s new film played to a packed audience on Friday 28th January in the beautiful Britten Studio at Snape Maltings

Saturday was a day of stimulating presentations and discussions with acclaimed writers Alexandra Harris, Rachel Lichtenstein, Richard Mabey and Robert MacFarlane, and in the evening we were treated to an astonishing tribute concert by Patti Smith.

On Sunday the weekend was drawn to a perfect close with a guided walk on Orford Ness, a vast and beautiful ex-military site that was a strong influence on Sebald, and Rings of Saturn.
